North Ryde Soccer Club vs Gladesville Ravens 5/6 Round 10
Super League Update

1st Grafe
North Ryde came out of the blocks strongly with taking a stand against one of the heavyweight teams Gladesville Ravens. A goal of the year contender strike by the skipper Jared Dries saw the boys take a 1-0 lead mid way through the first half. A messy and lazy challenge by the defence of North Ryde saw Ravens capitalise from the penalty spot and make it 1-1. Second half kicked off and the opposition outclassed our boys. Once again the lads showed the North Ryde spirit up until the final whistle going down 3-1.

North Ryde looked to bounce back from the opening round against Ravens going down 5-0. The lads started the game of playing quite a conservative style of football with the majority of possession falling to Ravens. Teams went into the break locked at 0-0 with Ravens not capitalising on their chances late in the first half. Second half kicked off and North Ryde took control of the game, scoring an early goal and then getting a gift for a second by an own goal. The lads were over the moon and sung the team song the way it should be sung loud and proud. This victory saw North Ryde sit a clear second on the ladder.

Next week, North Ryde take on St patricks FC away from home at Meadowbank.

A lot positives to take from both games over the day the boys should be immensely proud of themselves and representing the club and most importantly always showing that North Ryde spirit of never taking a backwards step and fighting to the end. A big thanks also to our supporters for coming out to support the North Ryde boys, look forward in seeing you all at the games through the season.

Yours Truly,
Hayden Allen
